Baghikian Law went from invisible in search to ranking #1 for landlord-tenant attorney queries. We moved the firm off Squarespace onto a hand-built static site, then structured it around the two sides of California landlord-tenant work. Twelve city pages, practice pages, a blog and schema sit under a roughly 60-URL sitemap, with legacy URLs preserved through the migration. Google Ads runs as a deliberate split: landlord intent and tenant intent never share a landing page.
The result
Baghikian Law started this engagement invisible in search - no meaningful presence for the queries that define its practice. It now ranks #1 for landlord-tenant attorney searches. That is the headline outcome of the rebuild and the SEO spine described below, and it is published here with the client's approval.
The brief
The firm was on a Squarespace template that could not carry the page count a landlord-tenant practice needs. California landlord-tenant search is not one market - it is two audiences with opposing interests, searching different phrases, in dozens of cities. A single service page cannot serve both.
What we built
- A custom static rebuild with no CMS overhead, engineered so new city and practice pages can be added without touching the template.
- A landlord-tenant SEO spine: practice pages for evictions, unlawful detainer, habitability and wrongful eviction, each written for one side of the matter.
- Twelve city pages targeting the firm's real service geography rather than a generic statewide page.
- A blog layer for the recurring legal questions that drive informational search, internally linked back to the practice pages.
- Structured data across the site so the firm, its locations and its practice areas are machine-readable.
- A roughly 60-URL sitemap at launch, with the previous URL structure preserved or mapped so no earned equity was lost.
Paid media
Google Ads is split at the campaign level: landlord intent and tenant intent are separate campaigns pointing at separate landing pages. It keeps message match tight, keeps the two audiences from cannibalising each other's keywords, and makes spend legible when the firm reviews it.
